Margaret Peot is a painter, printmaker, and writer. She has exhibited at the Galleries at Saint Peter’s Church Gallery in the Citicorp Building, the Grady Alexis Gallery at El Taller Latinoamericano, Cornelia Street Cafe, The Center for Book Arts, La Mama New Works Series, Lake Placid Center for the Arts, and other venues.

Her first book, Make Your Mark: Explore Your Creativity and Discover Your Inner Artist (Chronicle Books, 2004) is a collection of no-fail, no-drawing-necessary ways to make beautiful marks on paper. Make Your Mark has found a following in the education community, and was voted one of the best how-to books of 2004 by Library Journal.

Margaret’s latest book, The Inkblot Book: Drip, Splat and Squish Your Way to Creativity (Boyds Mills Press, 2011) received a starred review in School Library Journal (please visit www.theinkblotbook.com for details), and a 2011 Eureka! Silver Medal from the California Reading Association.

Her upcoming book, The Successful Artist’s Career Guide: Finding Your Way in the Business of Art (North Light Books) will be released March 1, 2012.

Margaret has painted costumes for Broadway theater, dance, television and the circus for the past twenty-five years.
